The Pack Report: New Faces & Weekly Vibes
New Pack Members:
We are so excited to have some new members of the Zoomies family! Welcome Percy the Goldendoodle mix, Cookie the Havanese, and Tribble the Havanese/Bichon mix.
Weekly Highlights:
Percy completed his first walk booked with us mid-week, followed by a series of walks over this weekend. He was so shy when we met for our first walk. He had to be bribed with treats throughout the walk! By the third walk, he had really started to come out of his shell! He was even waiting at the door with tail wagging when we arrived.
Cookie and Tribble had such great energy right out of the gate. Nicole grew up with a Havanese, so she walked in to the Meet & Greet ready to love them and they did not disappoint! Cookie didn’t let his age hold him back from loudly demanding his fair share of attention. Tribble was thrilled to have someone new to play with him and his oinking pig toy!
Business Update:
We’re continuing to see the Montgomery County community grow, and we’re so grateful for the trust you put in us to care for your pups.
Sniffs & News: This Week’s Top Stories
Federal “Blitz” on Bad Breeders
In a major move this week (Feb 18), the USDA joined forces with the DOJ and Homeland Security to launch a coordinated crackdown on chronic dog welfare violators. This “Federal Blitz” targets unlicensed breeders and those importing dogs for resale without proper permits. It’s a huge win for animal welfare and a reminder to always vet where your pup comes from!
Travel Troubles & “Jet Blue”
A story went viral this week involving a woman arrested at Las Vegas airport after abandoning her Goldendoodle at the check-in counter because she didn’t have the right paperwork for him to fly. The good news? The pup, now aptly named “Jet Blue,” is safe and being cared for by a local charity. It’s a stark reminder that pet travel in 2026 requires more digital documentation than ever—always double-check those requirements before heading to the airport!
“Quiet Luxury” is the New Dog Vibe
The latest 2026 design trends show a massive shift toward “Practical Aesthetics.” Pet parents are moving away from neon leashes and plastic bins. Instead, people are choosing “Cloud Dancer” (Pantone’s 2026 color: a soft off-white) for beds and bowls that blend into home decor. If your dog’s gear looks like it belongs in an interior design magazine, you’re officially on-trend (although we still have a soft spot for the bright colors)!
Groomer’s Tip: The “Winter Boredom” Shift

With the February chill still lingering in Montgomery County, we’re seeing a big trend in Enrichment-First care. Many of you are asking about indoor stimulation.
- Try This: Use “snuffle mats” or frozen lick pads to keep your dog’s mind busy when it’s too cold for long treks.
- Grooming Note: Winter air is drying out coats! If you’ve noticed more dander or itching, it might be time for a deep-conditioning treatment during our next session.
