What Grief Taught Us About Caring for Your Family
The First Generation: Our Teachers
Zoomies Dog Care wasn’t built on a business plan; it was built on the legacies of three dogs who were our children.
Thor: The Boss

Our head-strong “soul dog.” When he passed suddenly in 2023, the silence in our home was deafening. He taught me that loyalty is immeasurable and that a dog’s love is a gift you have to earn every day.
Marley: The Chaos
A sweet “teddy bear” who brought a beautiful brand of chaos to our lives. Marley came to us with trauma and aggression, and he taught us the ultimate lesson in patience and specialized care.
Loki: The Professor
Our most recent loss. She was so smart we had to encrypt our conversations because she’d decipher our “code words” for walks. She was the anchor of our family for 13 years and the reason we are so passionate about senior dog health.
Healing Through Community
When we lost our first generation, it was our clients and their pups who helped us heal. Being a part of your dogs’ lives gave us a place to put all the love we still had to give. We realized that while these dogs are only a part of our lives, we are their whole lives. That is a responsibility we do not take lightly.
The Promise: Treating Your Dog Like Family
When I promise to treat your dog like family, it isn’t a marketing slogan. It is a guarantee born from experience.
- It’s why we are over-protective about salt on the sidewalk.
- It’s why we insist on a firm “handshake” on the leash for safety.
- It’s why we worry over them, teach them, and make every moment of their walk or groom count.
Today, Luna and Oakley run the “management team” at our house. They are a constant reminder that while we can never replace the ones we’ve lost, we can honor them by providing the best, most protective care possible to the dogs of Montgomery County.
